Forefront 2 Camera/Light Mount

The attachment for the helmet is pretty cool, because it is designed for the forefront 2 helmet. I like it because it has more of a shelf than the normal adhesive mount. I was kind of bummed that it did not come with a GoPro style mount that is becoming more of the mounting standard, it only came with a handlebar style mount (the one with the light in the product picture of the website).

Love the idea and it's almost perfect. I just feel that even with the bolt it sometimes slides out, and you can't really tighten it down anymore without pulling the nut out. The 3m helps but doesn't make it perfect imo. However, it's better than the straps you use with light mounts.

Easy to install, does what it’s supposed to do. From a design standpoint, it’s a bit lacking – basically gives you an artificial “handlebar“ to strap the light to. As a result, The mound is pretty bulky, and the light rides pretty high above the helmet. A mount that would attach to the disk at the base of the light would be preferable.

The mount works great with go pro / action camera style mounts and light mount works well with any handlebar type light. The mount itself seems to be similar materials as a typical go pro mount. I like that the mount uses a screw to secure it , gives it a bit more of a quality feel for MTB use. Personally I use a 1000 lumen self contained light and find it to be a little on the heavy side so perhaps this would be best suited for something a little smaller or external battery use. Price isn't too bad either !

Secure mount

does what it's supposed to, i can mount a light on my helmet. i was a little disappointed at how high the light sticks up... it would be nice if Smith could make attachments for it that would be compatible with other brands specific connectors (bontrager blender or clip, or lezyne). A single screw holding it on doesn't seem the most secure, but haven't had it fall off yet. The extra weight of the light does change the way the helmet sits on the head, takes a bit of getting used to, particularly on the bumpy descents.

I was originally worried that with only one attachment point there would be a little bouncing of the light while riding. That is not the case though. The light is perfectly balanced and secured very well. I am very happy with the mount and light combo. For reference I use the Light and Motion Vis 1000 Trooper.

Fits the Forefront perfectly either using the bolt mount method (preferred way of mounting) or stick on. My old mount using a different system was way to tall on the helmet and would catch on things. This is a very low profile mount. Works perfect. I’m so glad Smith makes a mount specifically for this helmet or any helmet that has a bolt-on mount option.

Easy to use, much cleaner than many other solutions. The Forefront 2 helmet fits really well and looks good, and the availability of a light mount is a nice feature.

Easy installation, and secure for mountain biking in rough terrain. Good solution for someone who doesn't want to stick a more permanent go pro mount to helmet.

East to install, Great to attach GoPro to you helmet. I use it to record my mountain bike rides. Easy to install and has a snug fit to your helmet.

The integration of this Mount with my Smith Forefront 2 Helmet provides me with a high level of confidence that it will not fall off. This Mount works perfectly for attaching the Light and Motion headlight I use.

Camera and Light mount has been great. I did notice a little bit of movement when I went to switch mounts, it could be the screw was loose. Other than that I've been throughly happy with the mount.

If the base of this were more durable, I'd give it 5 stars. I am replacing one that broke around the area where the mounting screw holds it to the helmet. This area is very weak and should be corrected on future versions. Otherwise, this is a perfectly amazing mount.

I was hoping this would be an easier on/off part, but it relies on VHB tape, which isn't reusable. Overall it seems secure enough though.

Glad to see this back in stock. Works great on the Forefront 2.

Good solid fit

I don't own a GoPro and only really night ride in the winter, but this thing stays on my helmet year-round. Why would you take it off? It's the best way to mount a light on your helmet I've yet seen.

When, if ever, will this item be restocked? Can't find this for sale anywhere. Is there a substitute on the market? Thanks!

Clean installation for light attachment.

The mount fits well but doesn’t provide a wide variation of light options that I could find. I like the zebra light that I have but have to improvise but still consider this a good product

Excellent quality as everything that Smith produces. Very easy to install. It’s a universal mount so it fits the lights that I have. Super happy with it.
